Stocking Giftware in a Pet Shop or Grooming Salon
A pet shop or grooming salon can add a small giftware range by choosing breed and coat-colour pieces that owners recognise, keeping them near the till or reception, and adding one or two engravable pieces. Our trade terms are a minimum first order of £150, free UK delivery over £300 and in-stock orders dispatched within 3 days from our UK warehouse. Trade prices are sent privately.
Why add giftware to a pet shop or grooming salon?
Pet owners already trust you with the animal they love most, which makes you a natural place to buy a gift for them. A birthday for a friend with a new puppy, a thank-you for a dog walker, a small present for a neighbour who looks after the cat: these are all purchases that happen next to the till and the reception desk when the right piece is on display.
Giftware also helps with the quieter side of the business. Many groomers and pet shops see clients through a pet's whole life, including the last stage. A small selection of memorial keepsakes, kept discreetly, gives staff something kind to offer without having to improvise.
A wooden figure suits this setting because it is decorative, easy to display and needs no shelf-life planning. Our pieces are hand-carved and hand-painted, and they are decorative items, not toys.
Grooming salons have a further advantage: customers wait there, often with time to look around. A compact display at reception, with a few breed figures at eye level, gives owners something to browse while their dog is being groomed, and it costs very little space.
Which pieces suit a pet business?
Start with breeds. The Tiny Labrador comes in five coat colours and is described as a good impulse buy at the till, and the Textured Pug and Textured Golden Retriever have a carved fur texture on a round pine base. The Border Collie on Paw Base and the Dog with Bandana both have engravable bases.
For cat owners, the Faceted Tuxedo Cat is one of our best-loved small cats, and the Faceted Grey Tabby Cat and Faceted Ginger Tabby Cat are sized for a desk or shelf.
For something a customer can carry every day, the Red Panda Charm hangs on a genuine leather cord and works as a bag charm or keychain.
- Till-point: Tiny Labrador, Red Panda Charm
- Breed figures: Textured Pug, Textured Golden Retriever, Border Collie
- Cats: Faceted Tuxedo, Grey Tabby and Ginger Tabby
- Engravable: Border Collie, Dog with Bandana, Smiling Ginger Cat, Black Bombay Cat
How should you display and describe them?
Keep the display small and tidy. A wooden tray or a low shelf by the till or reception desk is enough. Group dogs together and cats together so owners can scan quickly for their own animal, and keep the larger pieces at the back with the small ones in front.
Use a short shelf card that says the pieces are hand-carved, hand-painted decorative items, not toys. If a piece is available with an engraved base, say what can be engraved, such as a name or a date, and who to ask. Do not add claims you cannot check, such as materials or finishes beyond what we have told you in writing.
Keep memorial pieces in a quieter place than the till display, such as a shelf near the consultation area or the grooming reception, and let staff mention them only when it feels right.
Rotate the display every few weeks. Moving a different breed to the front, or bringing a seasonal piece forward, gives regular customers a reason to look again and keeps the shelf from becoming part of the furniture.
What about memorial keepsakes?
Several pieces are tagged for memorial use, including the Textured Golden Retriever, Textured Pug, Border Collie on Paw Base, Dog with Bandana, Tiny Golden Retriever and the faceted cats. They are keepsake figures, not urns, and we do not describe them as holding ashes.
For a vet practice or groomer, a handful of memorial pieces is plenty. Choose the breeds and colours your clients own most, and ask us about engravable bases if you would like to offer a name or a date. Our guide on offering memorial keepsakes at a pet crematorium or vet practice covers the tone and the wording in more detail.
Be gentle and brief with families. A leaflet or a small display is usually better than a conversation, and nothing should feel like a sales pitch.
What are the trade terms for a first order?
Our standard terms for in-stock pieces are simple. The minimum first order is £150. UK delivery is free over £300. In-stock orders are dispatched from our UK warehouse within 3 days. Trade prices are not published. They are sent privately after you send an enquiry, so they match the pieces you want to stock.
Once you have trade prices, plan a small, mixed first order that meets the minimum: a few dogs, a few cats and a charm for the till. If you would like to reach free delivery on the first order, add a few more pieces until the total passes £300.
If you would like a design that no other shop has, such as a breed figure from a photograph or a base engraved with your salon name, that is handled as a custom order, with sampling and production timings of its own.
How do you place a first order?
Use the trade enquiry form. Tell us whether you run a pet shop, a grooming salon, a vet practice or another pet business, which pieces you are interested in and whether you would like any engraved bases. We reply with trade prices and the next steps.
You can read more about our standard terms on the wholesale page, and our guide to small till-point gifts explains how to merchandise the smallest pieces. For a bespoke piece, see the custom page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum first order for trade customers?
The minimum first order is £150. UK delivery is free over £300, and in-stock orders are dispatched from our UK warehouse within 3 days. Trade prices are not published and are sent privately after you send a trade enquiry through the wholesale page.
Can I order engraved pieces for my salon or practice?
Some bases can be laser-engraved with a name, a date or a short message, including the Border Collie, Dog with Bandana, Smiling Ginger Cat and Black Bombay Cat. Mention engraving in your trade enquiry and we will confirm what is available and how it works for your order.
Are the wooden animals toys?
No. They are decorative items, not toys. They are hand-carved and hand-painted for display on a shelf, desk or windowsill. A short card on the display saying so helps avoid confusion in a shop where children are present.
Can I stock pet memorial keepsakes?
Yes. Several pieces are tagged for memorial use. They are decorative keepsake figures, not urns, and we do not describe them as holding ashes. Choose the breeds and colours your clients own most, and ask about engravable bases for a name or date.
Can you make a figure from a customer's photograph?
Yes, as a custom order. We agree the design with you, make a sample that takes about 15 days and carries a sample fee, and production takes about 30 days from sample approval. Minimums and pricing are agreed privately. See the custom page for the full process.
